Bobbin lace is an old and noble type of lace that has been used in Estonia to decorate folk costumes. Merli Taukari has given this beautiful lace a much more contemporary expression through jewelry design.
In addition to the jewelry, the exhibition features Merli Taukari’s first clothing collection, which includes not only bobbin lace but also Irish lace, as well as crocheted and knitted lace. A leaf motif is hidden within the different lace techniques, symbolizing the artist’s love for nature—its patterns and colors.
