PoCo’s exhibition Pink Girls

At the PoCo Pop Art Museum, Finnish artist Katja Tukiainen’s exhibition “Pink Girls” enlivens visitors’ spirits with its burst of pink.

Her first solo exhibition in Estonia opens up a multifaceted view of the experience of being a girl, and nearly 50 works displayed in the museum present playful, mischievous, and bold characters.

The acclaimed comic artist Tukiainen combines sweet pink tones with sharp rebelliousness, and her works radiate a cheerful fist-shaking toward restrictive social norms.

The motif of Pink Girls has accompanied her since her youth, when she began creating autobiographical comics. Today, in her fifties, the artist finds that her characters embody an ageless wildness and wisdom.
