A beautiful concert by the University of Pittsburgh’s acclaimed choir will take place at the Niguliste Museum. The Heinz Chapel Choir was founded in 1938 to coincide with the dedication of Heinz Memorial Chapel, a gift to the University of Pittsburgh. The choir brings together students from various academic fields across the university.
The ensemble is conducted by its tenth director, Susan Rice, who has been a faculty member at the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Music since 2014, teaching vocal and lyric diction courses.
In addition to world classics, the programme features works by Estonian composer Pärt Uusberg and Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds.
The concert will also include a musical greeting by the Tallinn University of Technology Chamber Choir, conducted by Rihards Zariņš.
During the concert, the museum exhibition and the Niguliste tower will be closed.
