Christmas Spirit in the Old Town

The season is just right for enjoying a walk in the festively decorated Old Town. We will feel the Christmas spirit with all our senses, as the tour ends with a fun gingerbread baking workshop.

Did you know that, according to legend, the tradition of bringing a Christmas tree to the central square of a city began with the Christmas tree in Tallinn Town Hall Square? Or that the history of gingerbread baking goes back to the Middle Ages? The centuries-long history may seem overwhelming at first but there is no need to worry, because on our tour we will avoid unnecessary dates and dry facts – the history of the Old Town will come alive through stories.

During our walk, the history of the medieval city will come alive with fascinating stories and exciting legends about great barons, clever merchants, superstitious town folk and those who didn’t mind selling their soul for wealth and fame. Let’s enjoy a memorable walk in the festive Old Town!

The tour starts at the beginning of Nunne street and is 3 kilometres long.
It will take three hours and can be ordered in Estonian, Russian, English and German.

If you wish to participate, write to info@waypointtallinn.ee. The tour must be pre-booked at least 48 hours in advance.
