Hirvepark

    Hirvepark

Hirvepark (deer’ park) was established in the former moat in front of the bastions, deer once lived here until the 1930s. Hirvepark was hardly damaged in the war and has preserved its spices-rich tree canopy. In end of the 1980s, during the Singing Revolution, public meetings held here, inspired Estonian freedom from the Soviet Union, changing the history of the nation.

A lovely, not too big garden by the walls of the old city. Hige above on the hill you can sit there and relax between the walkings.

The park is a small, quiet retreat with statues and trees all around. Nice place to walk to collect your thoughts. Also great to watch some really remarkable trees close to the Linda Statue.
