Every September, Estonia celebrates its food culture by turning the spotlight on produce grown, raised and made right here. This year, a number of restaurants in Tallinn will serve special Estonian menus, and many hotels will bring local flavours to their breakfast buffets.
Local food isn't just about taste, it's about knowing where your meal comes from, supporting the people who produce it, and keeping the character of a place alive. Estonian food is tasty, healthy, and something you won't easily find elsewhere in the world, so don't hesitate to give it a try!
Estonian food month is an annual invitation to explore how food makes its way from Estonian farms, forests and waters to our tables, and how producing and consuming local food impacts our industry and economy. Eating local food is an effective and easy way to travel responsibly, allowing you to support the local economy, and gain new experiences by trying something that's uniquely rooted to the region you're visiting.
Throughout September 2025, participating restaurants, hotels and supermarkets around Estonia will highlight locally sourced foodstuff in their selection. Keep your eyes open for special menus and offers from the restaurants listed below!

This September, many hotels in Tallinn will showcase Estonian ingredients, foodstuff and meals at their breakfast buffets.
Estonian food will be clearly marked on the tables and the selections will include many locally loved breakfast items including black bread with fresh farm butter, berry jams from nearby gardens, and Estonian kama – a special power flour to enjoy with kefir and jam or fresh berries.
These flavours are simple, clean and honest – and they carry the story of the land they come from. Eat breakfast like an Estonian and take a moment to taste them; it’s one of the most direct ways to experience Estonia.
During the September campaign, participating Tallinn hotels offer the chance to enjoy Estonian flavors even for those not staying overnight. Hotel breakfast buffets are open to the public, highlighting local ingredients and traditional dishes.
For example, you can dine at Shnelli or Economy Hotel for €12.90, at Mercure, Kalev Spa, or My City Hotel for €18. A great selection of Estonian dishes awaits you at Nordic Hotel Forum and Mövenpick hotels, where breakfast costs €25, as well as at Radisson Blu Olümpia, where breakfast is priced at €23. Palace Hotel Tallinn and Radisson Collection offer a diverse selection for €25 and €32, respectively.
The following restaurants have commited to offering a special menu for Estonian Food Month. These menus will feature locally sourced ingredients and creative takes on regional dishes.
