The Kalamaja Community Museum was created with the help of the locals. Opened in September 2021, the museum is a cosy place for locals and visitors alike, with exhibitions and public programme to learn about local history, the present, and the future.
The Kalamaja Museum summarises a fragment of the colourful nature of the area. The museum does not tell the entire story of Tallinn's oldest suburb from beginning to end – Kalamaja is meant to be discovered on your own. You can experience it briefly in the museum, but especially when walking in the streets and parks or sitting on a bench or on the stairs.
