A Peipus-Russian Tea Night and Candle Rolling Workshop

Candles have always been a symbol of warmth, light and holiness. Candles from beeswax are considered to be the most valuable since they do not release soot when burned and have a positive effect on health.

At this workshop, we will make beeswax candles by using the rolling method that is traditional to the Old Believers. A nice cup of tea goes great with candle making. Tea drinking, or tšaepitie, is one of the most important rituals in the daily life of Old Believers. Good tea is always made in a samovar and tastes best when sipped from a saucer and accompanied by a bite of sweet keedusukker.
