Tallinn in 3 Days – Discover the City Smartly with Tallinn Card

Tallinn Card is one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to explore Estonia’s capital. It offers free entry to more than 50 museums and attractions, unlimited use of public transport, and discounts at selected cafés, restaurants, and shops. It’s an ideal choice for anyone who wants to experience Tallinn in a relaxed and flexible way without the hassle of buying separate tickets.

This three-day itinerary takes you through Tallinn’s historic Old Town, green parks, and seaside neighbourhoods, as well as its creative districts - all easily accessible with the Tallinn Card.

Day 1 - Old Town and Noblessner

Start your journey in Tallinn’s UNESCO-listed Old Town. Its cobblestone streets, medieval walls, and towers create an atmosphere that feels like stepping back in time. Visit the Kiek in de Kök fortress tower and the Bastion Passages for a fascinating look into the city’s defensive history. Then head to the Niguliste Museum, where medieval art and the spacious church interior offer a peaceful break from the bustling streets. Don’t miss the glass lift ride up for panoramic views of the city.

For lunch, Restaurant Spot is a great option and Tallinn Card holders enjoy a small discount. Afterward, treat yourself to something sweet at Chocolala or Kehrwieder, both beloved cafés in the heart of the Old Town.

In the afternoon, hop on public transport (included with your card) and head to Noblessner. There, you can explore either the Seaplane Harbour or the PROTO Invention Factory - two very different but equally engaging attractions. Take some time to stroll along the seaside, and finish the day with dinner at the legendary Olde Hansa.

Tip!  Did you know that Tallinn Card also works as your ticket for public transport in the city? You can purchase the card before your trip and hop on a tram straight from Tallinn Harbour. It’s a convenient way to start exploring the city right away!

Day 2 - Peaceful Kadriorg and Coastal Pirita

Your second day takes you to Kadriorg, where art, architecture, and nature come together. Begin at Kumu Art Museum, one of Estonia’s most important cultural landmarks. Then enjoy a walk through the park to the Mikkel Museum and continue to Kadriorg Palace, home to the Kadriorg Art Museum. After your morning of art, have lunch at the palace café, which overlooks the beautiful gardens.

In the afternoon, head to Pirita and visit the Tallinn TV Tower for stunning views over the city and the sea. Right next door is the Tallinn Botanic Garden, where you can slow down and wander among exotic plants and greenhouses - a perfect moment to recharge before the evening.

On your way back, stop at Maarjamäe Palace, part of the Estonian History Museum, and enjoy dinner at the restaurant there.

On your final day, explore Tallinn’s contemporary side. Start at Fotografiska, known for its dynamic exhibitions by international and Estonian photographers. Then visit the Poco Pop Art Museum in the city centre for a lighter, more playful art experience.

Drop by the Tallinn Design House to discover stylish Estonian design - perfect for both personal finds and unique gifts. During the day, take a break at Pierre Chocolaterie and also visit the Museum of Applied Art and Design to get a deeper insight into the evolution of Estonian design.
