Exhibition "The Father of Caricature: Works by Honoré Daumier from Paul R. Firnhaber’s Collection"

US anthropologist Paul R. Firnhaber, who now lives in the Estonian town of Viljandi, stands out among Estonia-based collectors with his unique collection of art and photography. This exhibition presents part of this collection: caricatures and cartoons by Honoré Daumier. Published regularly in the newspapers La Caricature and Le Charivari, Daumier's humorous pictures helped elevate the status of caricature to "high art", setting up a canon of the genre.
