Glehn's Cemetery

Find this family cemetery on the former estate of Nikolai von Glehn, whose manor is a prime attraction in Tallinn's Nõmme suburb.

Nikolai von Glehn established the cemetery in 1896 after the death of his wife Carolina Henriette Marie. Later his son Manfred’s children Barbara, Maria and Ulrich were buried here. Glehn himself had planned to be put to rest here, but life took him to Brazil where he died in 1923.

The cemetery was destroyed during the Soviet period, but in 2005 it was restored to close to its former shape with the ponds cleared, bridges built up and pathways constructed.
