Museum of Puppetry Arts

The museum aims to introduce the history and current developments of the art of puppet theatre for adults and children alike.
The beginning of the permanent exhibition of the Puppet theatre museum dates back to the year 1952 when the Estonian National Puppet Theatre (today Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences) was founded. The exhibition tells the story of the 70 years of the theatre on the corner of the Lai street in Tallinn, exhibiting pieces of that theatre's history. For the smaller visitors, the history of the theatre is presented through thematic games on each decade.
The second part of the permanent exhibition introduces different types of dolls, you can play with table dolls, rod dolls, puppets and marionettes.

A ticket for children aged 3–6 costs €6.

Fascinating exploration of puppetry and theatre over time. Loved ‘le petit gavroche’ and the steam punk puppetry. Fascinating to watch clips of performances on their time machine.
