Nõmme Market

Nõmme Market is a colourful market bulging with domestic products that spans between a pine forest and Nõmme Cultural Centre.
The market features are all kinds of seasonal foodstuffs. When the weather is nice, the outdoor sales stands are filled with domestic vegetables, seasonal fruits, and also forest berries and other produce by mid-summer. There are also the small colourful booths where local farmers sell their goods. Meat, fish, vegetables, pastries, domestic apples and honey products are all sold in separate booths.
Nõmme had its own market in 1908, and the first market building was established in 1930. The market building was thoroughly renovated in 2008, but it was almost completely destroyed in a fire only two years later. The new market building with an original exterior appearance was reopened in 2010.

We took the train from Tallinn to get here, a very short, scenic, ride. Nomme is a charming area and the market is active and authentic. Many stalls yet not overwhelming at all, with all sorts of... Read more comments
