Welcome to Tallinn Bun Fest!

Every year a few weeks before Shrove Tuesday, cafés in Tallinn start selling the vastlakukkel – a soft bun filled with whipped cream and occasionally also jam or marzipan. Many cafés have let their creativity loose and are offering Shrove Berliners, Shrove croissants and even Shrove gelato!

Tallinn Bun Fest 2026 will take place from 15 January until Shrove Tuesday, 17 February. The complete list of participating cafés, baking delicious Shrove buns for us all to enjoy, will be published by December 2025.
